Premium Reliability for High-Utilisation Fleets

Refurbished Caterpillar Backhoe Loader Hydraulic Pumps

The Cat 424, 428 and 434 backhoe loaders run a load-sensing hydraulic system built around a variable displacement piston pump — engineered for the toughest applications and priced accordingly. When that pump wears, PumpGrid restores full loader and backhoe performance at a fraction of new-OEM cost, with a written test report to back it.

416 / 424 / 428 / 434 Series Tested at 207 Bar 3-Month Warranty 2-3 Day Dispatch

Caterpillar's backhoe loader range runs a closed-centre, load-sensing hydraulic system with a variable displacement axial piston pump — the same fundamental architecture across the 416 through 444 series, with displacement and flow scaled to machine size. On a 428C, this pump delivers around 163 LPM at 207 bar, enough to run loader, backhoe, steering and stabilisers with the responsiveness CAT is known for.

Understanding the CAT Load-Sensing System

What Load-Sensing Means

Rather than running at constant maximum flow, CAT's closed-centre load-sensing pump adjusts output to match exactly what the loader, backhoe or steering function demands at any moment — improving fuel efficiency and giving finer control at the joystick.

The Torque Limiter

CAT's system includes a torque limiter that destrokes the pump if signal pressure exceeds a set threshold — protecting the engine from being overloaded when multiple functions are demanded simultaneously. This is a precision component that must be correctly calibrated during refurbishment, not just replaced generically.

What Our Refurbishment Covers

Full disassembly. Piston, slipper and swashplate wear measured against CAT tolerance. Torque limiter and margin spool function tested and recalibrated. Shaft seal and all O-rings replaced as standard. Bench pressure test with flow measurement at rated speed. Written report issued.

Why Fleet Owners Choose Refurbished CAT Pumps

Dealer Lead Time Avoided

New CAT pump assemblies through the official dealer network are precision-built to order in many cases, with lead times that can stretch beyond a month. PumpGrid dispatches tested refurbished units in 2-3 working days.

₹70,000-₹1.2 Lakh Saved Per Unit

CAT parts carry a premium reflecting the brand's build quality — a refurbished pump from PumpGrid typically saves 40-60% against new OEM pricing without sacrificing tested performance.

Documentation That Matches CAT's Own Standards

GMMCO and other CAT dealer networks in India expect thorough documentation. Our written pressure and flow test report is built to the same standard your fleet manager already expects.

Warranty That Protects Downtime-Sensitive Fleets

3-month minimum warranty, confirmed in writing. For contractors running CAT fleets where every hour of downtime is costly, we replace — not repair — any unit that fails due to a refurbishment defect.

Is Your CAT Backhoe Loader Showing These Signs?

Loader or backhoe arm losing lifting force
High-pitched whine from the pump at idle
Hydraulic oil overheating faster than normal
Sluggish response when multiple functions run together
Oil leak from the pump housing or shaft seal
Loss of fine joystick control precision

If 2 or more of the above apply, the pump likely needs refurbishment. WhatsApp us your machine's exact series and letter suffix with the symptoms and machine hours.

FAQs

My machine is a 428, but I see three different pump part numbers for that series — which do I need?
CAT's part numbers change across the B, C, D, E/F letter-suffix generations of the same base series — each represents an engineering update, not just a serial range. Check the letter suffix on your machine's model plate (e.g. "428C" vs "428F") and confirm before ordering. WhatsApp us a photo of the plate and we'll match it exactly.
Is the torque limiter recalibrated as part of your refurbishment, or is that extra?
It's included as standard. The torque limiter and margin spool are functionally tested and recalibrated to CAT's factory setting during every refurbishment — this isn't an optional add-on, since a mis-calibrated torque limiter will cause the pump to underperform even if mechanically sound.
Do you supply in volume for a fleet maintenance contract?
Yes. We work with contractors and dealers managing multiple CAT backhoe loaders who need regular pump replacements. For repeat orders, we can set up a preferred account with stock reservation. WhatsApp us to discuss.
